You also need a headset (with a mic) and a camera. Your computer needs special software called Maya to work. We'll tell you exactly what your computer needs.
You
need one of these computer systems:
- You need a computer with Windows 10 (version 1809 or newer) or Windows 11.
- Or, you can use a computer with Apple MacOS (version 11, 12, or 13).
Hardware
Requirements
- Lots of memory (RAM): 8GB is okay, but
16GB is better.
- A special kind of processor: Intel or AMD,
not too old.
- A camera.
- A headset with a microphone, or you can
use a separate mic.
- A mouse with three buttons (not two).
- Empty space on your computer to save
stuff: about 7GB.

- Maya: For most of our animation and game classes.
- Unreal Engine: For making games.
- Zbrush: For making 3D models.
- Toon Boom Harmony: For drawing and animating cartoons.
- Toon Boom Storyboard Pro: For planning out stories with pictures.
- Photoshop: For painting pictures.
The other computer programs we
use are not as strong as the ones we listed. But if your computer can handle
the main program we listed for your class, it can also handle the other ones.
